Lenovo Miix 320 vs. Huawei MediaPad M3 10 Lite, Which is better?
Yesterday we brought you a comparison of the best mid-range Windows tablet PC and also what is probably the best mid-range Android tablet PC, the Galaxy Tab A 10.1, although it is true that this has a powerful rival in Huawei’s new tablet, which is much closer in price to the Lenovo tablet. So which of the two should you choose?
One of the most attractive parts of the MediaPad M3 10 Lite (a tablet otherwise quite conventional in its design with a predominance of soft lines) compared to its rivals is certainly the metal housing, an important detail (because, you have not only aesthetic value but it will also help prolong the life of the device. Another highlight is the Harman Kardon speakers. Although combined with plastic and glass, we also have metal in the Miix 320, and if we add that this comes with a keyboard and more ports (USB type C, two conventional USB and micro HDMI), the balance probably just leans in it’s favour, not taking into account each individuals personal preference.
With regard to dimensions, however, even though in size, the difference is quite small and can pass unnoticed (24.89 x 17.78 cm versus 24.13 x 17.15 cm), the Huawei tablet has a clear advantage both in thickness (9 mm compared with 7.1 mm), and what may be noted more, by weight (550 grams to 460 grams). Logically, with the attached keyboard the Lenovo tablet would be even thicker and heavier.
As is customary in mid-range Windows, the Lenovo tablet has a screen smaller than the more popular 2 in 1’s, identical to the Huawei tablet (10.1 inches). In fact, they also coincide on the type of used aspect ratio (16:10, optimized for video playback). Where the MediaPad M3 10 Lite comes out on top is in the resolution, since it reaches the standard Full HD (1920 x 1200) and the Miix 320 comes in HD (1280 x 800). At least that is the situation with the similarly priced models, because we must remember that the most complete (and expensive) of all of the Miix 320 also comes with Full HD resolution .
Regarding perfomance, it´s the turn of the Lenovo to show it´s strength. This shouldn’t be surprising if we take into account the operating system of each tablet. The Miix 320 comes with a quad-core Intel Atom X5-Z8350 and 1.84 GHz maximum frequency accompanied with 4 GB of RAM, while the MediaPad 10 M3 Lite has an octo-core Snapdragon 435 with 1.4 GHz maximum frequency and 3 GB of RAM (there is also a model with 4 GB, but naturally it’s more expensive).
If we compare the standard models, we find again that victory goes to the 320 Miix, which comes with 64 GB, while the M3 10 Lite MediaPad lets us have 32 GB. It should be taken into account, that Windows 10 is much bigger than Android, although not so much that we shouldn’t have more available space in the first place. Both come with a micro SD card slot.
Although we shouldn´t pay too much attention to this part (except for a few users with special interests), the balance leans towards the MediaPad M3 10 Lite side, which can be seen very clearly on the main camera(8 MP compared to 5 MP), but even more so on the front camera(8 MP versus 2 MP).
Unfortunately, as we have seen in other cases, we don’t have the battery capacity of the Miix 320 data to compare them to the MediaPad M3 10 Lite, so we have to wait until we receive comparable evidence of real-use data.
Lenovo Miix 320 vs Huawei MediaPad M3 10 Lite: Final verdict and pricing
As happened when compared to the Galaxy Tab A 10.1, opposite the MediaPad M3 10 Lite it’s clear that the Huawei is a more interesting option if we are looking for a tablet that would serve as a multimedia device (better sound, more resolution, better camera, lighter), but the 320 Miix is probably a more suitable choice for work (Windows 10, better processor, more RAM, more storage, keyboard). Both cost 300 dollars, so it’s merely a question of which one is more suitable for me.
It should be taken into account that these prices are for the basic models of both tablets. When launched, both came with superior setups and if we compare these, there’s a slight reduction in the difference between the two; the top version of the Miix 320 comes with Full HD as well as 128gb of storage and LTE connection, while the best version of the MediaPad M3 10 Lite comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
